Trying to extend some ideas, I'm thinking perhaps we need some general purpose "Voice Alarms". These could combine the operation of custom switches with a voice output. First pass idea:
VOICE ALARM:
Source - one of the items in the telemetry list that includes Gvars and Scalers.
Condition1 - e.g. telemetry value < constant, could also be a custom switch true etc.
Condition2 - An optional switch to enable the alarm.
Voice output - number to select voice file, may be able to extend to named files.
Repeat interval - could be ONCE, or number of seconds between repeats.

Re: Voice alarm upgrades
Hmmm, I think me like it
What about a specific menu that will look like say the "flight modes" menu. Call it for example, "voice Alarms".
As in flight modes you will have a list of voice alarms.. To edit, just highlight one of them, popup will come up, edit, clear, etc, as options.. when editing, then you will have all the fields you mentioned above. That would make it really easy to configure alarms.. For more complicated setups of course we have the traditional way for now.. then later we could think of what to do with the voice switches to make them look better/easier to program.. Not that they are difficult now
Sorry for the brainstorm. I think your idea is excellent. I'm just dreaming a bit further

Re: Voice alarm upgrades
What options do we need for the condition1?
Initial suggestions (the constant is a 16-bit value allowing 0-60000):
nothing - means just use condition2.
value > constant
value < constant
|value| > constant
|value| < constant
Do we need any others?
We will have condition2 as a switch, that may be a custom switch as well.
