Setting up warning beeps and Alarms
Hello,
I'm no expert on using eepe although I have managed to get one model to give differential aileron and flapperons together with three more easy setups. However unlike the eepe simulation my TX seems to refuse to sound the centring beeps that I hear on the PC simulation. Has anybody any suggestion why this might be. At one stage I did have them sounding on the TX but now I don't, even though I tick the relevant boxes in the program. I was under the impression that the TX should be switched on while writing the program to the TX, is that right?
Also I have the throttle warning displaying on switch on but no sounds and with that cancelled I get a message that Alarms are OFF. How can that be when the boxes are ticked and in Radio setup the various alarm settings all show ON. What am I missing here?
My TX is the cheap FlySky Chinese job.
Thanks Barrie

What version of the er9x firmware do you have installed on your radio?

Re: Setting up warning beeps and Alarms
That is the first line..
The 4th line (I Think) says something like:
SVN: er9x-r818
r818 is the version number.. But I think the firmware you have might already be quite old..
I asked because a few versions ago the menus changed completely and I'm trying to remember where everything was previously
I think it would be a good thing if you updated to the latest eepe and er9x.
Please go to the general settings menu (I think) and find an option called "Sound Mode", make sure it is set to "Beeper".
Also there is an option called "Beeper". Make sure it is NOT set to "Quiet"
João
EDIT: I have at least 3 "cheap FlySky Chinese job" transmitters and never had a problem..

I would still like to know where you find the latest firmware because I thought I already had the latest one?

Ahhh, then you've got the new menus.. Great it is working now..
If you have r817 then yes you've got the latest.. Eepe will ask you to download the firmware when a new one is available.. Just make sure you have configured it correctly in "File/ Preferences"

r817 is the latest "released" version. I post "test versions" on this thread (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598) for others to help testing. These have a later revison that the latest released version.

Re: Setting up warning beeps and Alarms
Hi again,
Thanks again for that info. I have to say this is an incredible system once you get to know it though it sometimes taxes the brain when things don't work as expected. I couldn't understand why my ailerons moved the same way even though I had one set as plus and the other minus. Only when I looked at how the two servos were set in the wing did I realise that the movement was reversed because the servos faced each other. Although eepe simulation showed them both moving the same way the configuration in the wing produced an opposite movement. You have to consider all aspects in using er9x and like all computer systems they only do what you tell them to do.

Yes, it's a great system and it can be challenging. But it's interesting that the problem you encountered has nothing to do with the design of Er9x. You would have had the same issue with any programmable transmitter!
Alarm when model is of and switch is pulled
Hi,
I once launched my DLG (Discuss Launched Glider) while the receiver was still off. This was not a pretty event.
How can I set an alarm when the receiver is off and I pull the launch switch?? The RSSI cannot be used in a compare for a logical switch, since it is only functioning when the receiver is ON?
Any idea's here??

Re: Setting up warning beeps and Alarms
Two possibilities, depending on which revision of er9x you are using, and which Tx module you are using (DJT/XJT).
With the DJT, TSSI (Tx RSSI) is set to 0, when no telemetry is being received, as would be the case if the receiver is not operating. With the XJT, the TSSI value is replaced by SWR, so then this doesn't work.
More recent revisions of er9x include a telemetry value of TmOK (last item in the list of telemetry values). This takes the value of:
0 - No telemetry being received.
1 - Basic telemetry being received, just the values from the Rx like RSSI, A1 and A2.
2 - Hub/Sensor telemetry also being received.
