trim reset affects ailerons every time it's used

Post by miss5031 »

I have a problem that every time I use the trim reset to center the trims, the ailerons are affected also. I have r804. I have tried to update to the newer ones but my computer does not recognize the usb. I have a new laptop that has Windows 8.1 on it. I don't know how to fix so I can update my FW. The problem I am having is on both my 9x and 9xr. I hope someone has an answer for me.

If you search for "windows 8" you will find references to how to get around installing unsigned drivers in Windows 8.

Trim reset?

Do you mean instant trim?

Yes, the instant trim. I have it set as the ele dr switch. Like I said, every time I use it to re-center my trims, the ailerons are moved. As for the Windows 8, I will do some research on that. Thanks.

Re-setting the trims takes both the trim position and the stick position onto account.

If your stick is slightly off center, it will in effect mess up your trim!

I would guess that your aileron stick is not centering accurately, with result that you notice the trim going wrong when using the function.

IMHO, instant trim is only useful for a 1 time operation, to get close to trim. After that, do the job manually :)

Thanks for the info, I am also still trying to get my laptop to recognize my usasp. No luck yet. But I'm not giving up.
