Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Does it understand the DSM protocol on the PPM input side of things?
For model match and co.

No, only PPM.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
It'll fit their Orange TX nicely.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Does it have model match?
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
As it's PPM-based, no way to do model match.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
I'm surprised it took them this long to do a DM9 copy.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
How many channels?
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
I asked on the HK page, but no answer yet.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Maybe it's just limited to the number of channels your tx is programmed to output...
That would be cool... dun dun dun

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Still, that is only DSM2 without module matching not DSMX right?
then 40.00 for DX4e to get a true DSMX module with model matching is still a better deal.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
It's DSMX because it does frequency hopping, that's what matters most. Model match is the only thing you lose, and of course no telemetry.
Personally I don't care about model match, never use it even if I could.
Cheaper and plug and play - nice, really.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Isn't DSM2 hops over 2 band while DSMX hops over 40 or 60 bands (can't remember the exact number) and that's part of the reason people has problem with DSM2 with more and more crowded flying field?
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
so the DSMX mod still worth while.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Well no, as the HK module does it too.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
the module does DSMX? Their rx is only DSM2? If their module is DSMX, I guess the DSMX rx is coming soon too.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Yep, still waiting for that. The upcoming 9XR radio is supposed to be DSMX, and release of DSMX receivers is anticipated at the same time...
Re: Sv: The end of the DSM mod...
The product video is up now and the presenter specifically points out that the TX supports multiple protocols, both DSM2 and. DSMX.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
Hmm, not too sure,
Won't Pat's dsm/dsmx mod have less latency (as well as model match)?
I agree Orange is a cheap solution if you don't want to use a soldering iron.
It may be my imagination, but my dx4e module in the 9x SEEMS to be
more responsive than my dm9 with the same transmitter/model,
particularly noticeable with quick bnf indoor stuff.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
I ordered one to try. I have a dx7, a dx4e modified module for my 9x builds and thought I'd try this. I don't think I'll use it much and will pass it on but wanted to play with it.
I'm not sure my BnF's will feel the latency?

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
what confuses me about it is DSMX/2 is the lable clearly says DSM2. If it is DSMX, won't they label DSMX/2? In the HK vid, when the guy talks about it has 2 modes, DSMX and DSM2 independently? "not backward compatible" I am not sure I heard it is a DSMX 'module' or it is compatible with DSM2 and DSMX.
Re: The end of the DSM mod...
The packing box says DSMX/DSM2. Guess they didn't have enough room on the module itself... and might target mainly the guys who want to use all the DSM2-based BnF stuff by clearly labeling it as compatible. That's where they'll sell the most.
At this point DSMX is only available with expensive original Spektrum receivers anyway.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
HK just answered on the channel count and said 14.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
So buying this module will only require the antenna mod to the back on org. module?
No new software flashing with the 9X programmer board hack?

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
I suppose the channel count 14 proves that they actually refer to DSM as the wire protocol rather than just radio protocol. Is that right?
Man, that would be so cool.
I will still obsolete my dx5e with the tx9. So if the radio turns out to be c**p I can still salvage the RF module. But seriously, for that money I'd rather go for the clean solution first.

Re: The end of the DSM mod...
No, I don't think so. The module is supposed to be compatible with all radios with a JR module slot, and all of these supply a PPM signal there. No other radio than the reflashed 9x sends digital DSM to the module slot.
So it suggests you can simply send a PPM signal with up to 14CH to the module.
