Old Turnigy 9X, ER9X to OpenTX?
Hello,
just getting back into RC after a bit of a break. Busted out some of my old radios and the one I'm most familiar with is my Turnigy 9X. It's got a Smartieparts v2.4 USB board, and it currently has a version of ER9X.
I'm looking to crossflow from ER9X to OpenTX. just wondering if anyone could supply some help out there. all these guides out there for the new radios. I may buy one in the future, but for now i'd like to get this radio running again, until I can get a Taranis x9d Plus SE.
I've got companion installed, and I've tried a few different things but it just can't seem to find my radio. Tried running Zadig to install/change the USBasp driver. Also updated the SAM-BA directory, as it was giving me an error about that. I'm on windows 10 x64 (as are most people nowadays eh?).

Note that ersky9x is the variant of er9x that runs on ARM processor based radios like the Taranis.
To see about getting your connection to the radio working, try running eepe on your PC, and see if you can read the EEPROM from the radio.

Re: Old Turnigy 9X, ER9X to OpenTX?
My scenario: 9x radio, DJT module, 5+ Rx that will not work with Taranis.
I can upload and download eproms from the radio but am getting "Bad Eeprom" warnings. I can create a model on the radio that does not come across to companion and I can create a model in companion that does not translate to the radio. I have Companion versions: 9x, 2.1, 2.2. Current firmware on radio is 2.1.9, eepr 216-2.
Too many versions! How do I get the old girl working? Thanks in advance.

I’m guessing you’re trying to install OpenTX on a 9x transmitter. Why then do you mention Taranis, given the subject of the thread?
Reading again I think you’re just in the wrong place. I think you’re asking how to upgrade from OpenTX 2.1.9 to 2.2.1. But you only have a 9x radio. I don’t think it can handle 2.2.

Re: Old Turnigy 9X, ER9X to OpenTX?
Assuming you have openTx on a Taranis, then most receivers should work using the internal XJT module, in either D16 or D8 mode. The only ones that need the DJT are the early 'V' receivers. In this case, you should be able to put the DJT in the module bay of the Taranis to use them.

Unclear what you want. You ask for OpenTX versions of which you have the latest already, but then mention er9x...
Re: Old Turnigy 9X, ER9X to OpenTX?
Sorry.. it was a copy and paste of Mikes post. I have earlier versions from 2014 era. I am looking for these .bins
Re: Old Turnigy 9X, ER9X to OpenTX?
Looking for OPENTX .bins for my stock Turnigy TGY9x radio. Sorry to confuse
Re: Old Turnigy 9X, ER9X to OpenTX?
I do have copies of the sourcecode from github on my pc (versions 2.0.0, 2.0.9, 2.0.14, 2.0.17, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.1.6, 2.1 7, 2.1.8).
Can you compile from source code?
I tested v 2.1.8 and it compiles, so I assume, the other versions will also be compilable. But there is the wide field of possible options that can be included into the fw and I don't know which of them you would need.
