Frsky Receiver Registration vs Bind

Post by Rc152 »

Can someone please explain why we need to register the FRSKY ACCESS receiver and then bind it? why we can not just bind as we did in the past?
Or in other words what is the technical difference between registration to binding?

You can now bind without having to reach for the receiver, just by powering it up, which many requested.

But you don't want your model to bind to someone else's radio that happens to be in bind mode when you power it up, it needs to only accept binding to your radio. That's what the registration is for, you do it once with a button press when you get the new receiver, it learns which radio it's allowed to bind to and then no need for the button anymore.

There are advanced uses where you manually specify the registration ID and use the same on your different radios so you can swap them again without reaching for the receiver.
