LED lights on a quad

Post by Wayne »

Hi there.New to the forum And could not find a template for my quad.
I want to be able to do the following: My quad will have strip led's on it.i want to use ch 6 on the receiver to drive a brushed esc. The 2 position switch will be used in the following manner. ID0 lights off. ID1 the lights will come on and in conjunction with the Pot next to the trainer switch adjust the brightness of the lights. ID2 and the lights need to flash using I think the range check function.

Will this work? Secondly how would I program the radio?

Thank you

Great,, try playing with the values of the timer in costum switches and with the slow values in the mixer. You might be able to get some really cool results. :)

hmm, interesting. what does the CS: Timer V1=2 V2=2 stand for? Never paid attention to the 'Timer' function.

it's a timer. V1 and V2 are the on/off times.. then you can use the CS to blink whatever you want ;)
Or a servo tester if used together with slow, just like in the eepe file above. he wants to control a ESC, but it could also work as a servo tester :)

V1 is on, V2 is off?
yep, I used a servo tester to do blinking.
Here is a teaser for you. same criteria for ID0-2, but add P1 for adjustable rate of flashing, P2 for adjustable intensity on ID2. I have not figure this out yet. ;)

Have a look at:
http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic ... 242#p60269
for a way to get a variable timer.

Mike, if I remember you left some spaces on the timer values for GVARS, didn't you?

Ok so something is a bit screwy. I think my er9x software on my radio is old. When setting ID0 I don't have a HALF option. There is full and max. The dim bright on ID1 works fine using P2. By the custom switches I have only 3 things I can change. At the function option I don't have a option to select Timer.

So in short I think I need to update my software on the radio?

MAX got changed to HALF on 28-Feb 2012, so you are missing a lot of changes/updates.

I believe the latest revision is fine, I flew with it OK yesterday.
Use eepe, and do a check for updates. This should get the the latest. Update eepe at the same time as the most recent changes need the updated eepe.
