Blade nano cpx

Post by martinburr »

Hi chaps'
I have successfully, bound my Nano CPX heli to a spectrum module in the back of the Taranis but I am not having much luck getting it to do what I want when I move the throttle the swash plate moves to one side. I have tried everything I can think of but no success, is there a template for this model?
Cheers Martin

You need your channels to output in the order.

Throttle
Aileron
Elevator
Rudder

Simply make sure the mixes are in this order on the mixer screen!

Slope Soaring, FPV, and pretty much anything 'high tech'
...........if you think it should be in the wiki.. ask me for wiki access, then go add it!

blade / spektrum stuff uses about 80% of the range in er9x. So change all of your limits to +-80. Also in the PPM settings change the ppm delay to 400us, some people have found this helps with the channel centering.

Hi chaps,
thanks for the speedy replies, I have set the channel order as suggested, and it works as expected. The problem happens when I advance the throttle stick. The motor runs but the swash plate moves one servo down at the front left.
I tried rebinding it to my old setup ( spectrum module in the back of a Futaba ff9) and it all works.
I have also tried erasing all the mixers except channel 1 throttle and it still moves the swash plate on its own. I have checked on the output bar graphs and it shows only movement on the throttle.
I expect it is something obvious !
This evening I will try setting 80% travel and 400 and see if that helps.
Cheers martin

If you look in the template library you will find working templates for your Nano.

As the CPx is a flybarless helicopter make sure you don't use the heli mixers (CYCx). For a flybarless system you should use straight AIL, ELE, RUD.

Hi Chaps,
Thanks for the help, it is working now. To help others here are my settings.
PPM frame, 22ms 400u +
Heli setup, all values are null
Chanel order, TAER regardless of your initial preference.
80% travel set on servos page.
Channel 6 controls blade pitch, set a curve to control it.
Hope this helps.
Ta Martin

I have my pitch channel setup like this:

Code: Select all

+55% THR Switch(ID0) Curve(C4)
+55% THR Switch(!ID0)
The percent will depend on your particular setup, adjust it until you get the pitch that you want. I use curve C4 for the normal mode pitch. This one doesn't go to full negative pitch, only a couple of degrees. Curve C4 = -40 -20 0 50 100. In either idle up mode I get a linear curve from -100 to 100. By not actually using a curve for this I save a little eeprom space.
