Servo reversing ?
Hey all,
Can anyone give me an example of how to program a reverse servo please?
I'm setting up a plane with retracts & flaps & need one of the flap servos to work in reverse using a Y cable.
Is that possible ?
Cheers,
BF:)

Re: Servo reversing ?
Using a Y-cable, no.
Both servos receive the same signal, and thus will go in the same direction.
If you want one to be reversed you need to use 2 separate channels.
Another solution is some special, active "Y cables" that will reverse one servo.

Re: Servo reversing ?
Mount the servo in a different way (servo lever pointing to the wing tip instead of the fuse or vice versa) or use the opposit side of the servo lever to connect the flap.

Re: Servo reversing ?
I use 2 channels but HK sells a servo reverser that's real inexpensive.
If its a foam wing you can flip your servo and just mod the wing flap servo opening to fit as mentioned earlier.
To use the same matching servo these are the best no soldering options.

Re: Servo reversing ?
Thanks all.
I'll try that HK servo reverser cable,
I'll try that HK servo reverser cable,
Re: Servo reversing ?
The other way would be to open up the servo, reverse the motor connections and then reverse the two outer connections on the potentiometer. Job done.
Re: Servo reversing ?
The best and easier would be really using 2 channels... if possible of course

Re: Servo reversing ?
Actually, I think using 2 channels will be the way to go. I was hoping to keep the channel count to a minimum but will looks like I'll have a spare anyway.
This is a large gasser I'm going to build with 6 servos in the wing, 3 in the fuse.
9 Servos all up. Eng, Rud, Elev, Ail, Gear, Flaps. (It's a Hangar 9 P-51D Bluenose 60).
I could have gone with an electric 60 size motor (one less servo) but just think this bird deserves a gas engine.

Re: Servo reversing ?
Thanks Joao,
I'm really an electric flyer, but yes, can't quite see a power 60 or 90 electric in this. I love the growl of a 4 Stroke gas.
No nitro either for this one. Got to be gasolene!
Cheers,
Paul.
