Did I brick my transmitter?

Post by roontoon »

I was trying to diagnose a problem that I was having with my quad and I was trying to rule out er9x so I was trying to revert to factory firmware. Now I get this message when trying to flash the transmitter.

avrdude.exe: error: programm enable: target doesn't answer. 1
avrdude.exe: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.

the transmitter is connected correctly and it is showing up in the device manager as per this screen shot. What can I do to save this? Thanks

What programmer? You will need to check the connection between your programmer and the 9x.

I have a smartyparts and everything looks solidly plugged in. If it is a connection why would it show up in the device manager?

The programmer connects to the computer just fine. You can have the sp board by itself on the table and it will show in the device manager. The problem is between the sp board and the 9x main board.

Clean the pads with some alcohol and make sure the pins are straight and making contact with the pads.

Thanks to all who responded. I got it working again. I totally removed the smartieparts board, cleaned the contacts on both the 9x main board and the smartieparts board. I also replaced the screws that came with the board with hex head socket head screws that I could fully drive down without stripping the head. I think that the screws might have been the issue as I had a difficult time getting them in when I installed the board originally. I also replaced the USB plug with a custom cable that I fabricated as it appeared that the solder joints on the usb looked a little wonkie. Again thanks.
