EEProm ERROR. ?

Hi everyone!

I have now searched and tested almost everything..

I have solderd telementry mod and the flashing mod..

I have checked every connection like 10 times now.. and are sure there are no loose wires or bad connections..

But when i putt the Transmitter together and connect the asp i get EEPROM ERROR in the display?
Is that becurs i have made the mod with telementry ?

And i get error with asp when i try to flash it, ( "Target does not anwer" and "Device signature=0x000000" )

My Usbasp is a "Lc Technology 2.0"

I have set the GND on pin 10. not the pin 4 that sometimes are RX/TX..

Please do anyone know what i should try? Or is it broken now?
It worked fine before the soldering.. :(

Hi, welcome to the forum :)

I can see that you used the "-F" option.
NEVER EVER USE THE -F OPTION. Unless you want to brick your radio..

Which telemetry mod have you done. With the level converter, or without the level converter? I strongly recommend the mod WITH level converter..

The reason I ask about the telemetry mod is that the programmer shares 2 connections with the telemetry.

So, if you have the eeprom error, the radio turns ON and it works, right? Did you manage to flash the firmware before? or it is still the original firmware?

We need some more information so we can help you better ;)

hi and thanks !

Well i got error "warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update"
and read somewhere then that it was usual with some asp.. But i wont do that agin now then.. :P

I did the one without level converter..

And the radio have never been flashed.. ( Original firmware )

And the radio turns on, but no beep at all, and cant push buttons to make it go past the error,
But i cant use the radio, not getting past the error..
Will it help to desolder the tele mod?

Your programmer not being able to set the SCK period shouldn't be a problem unless you need to slow the programming down. Let's hope it is not necessary.

I don't really like the telemetry mod without the level converter :(
Do you have resistors on the telemetry lines between the module and the radio?
I would try disconnecting the telemetry wires and attempt an eeprom read or a flash read. Just try saving the eeprom or the flash to a file. To test if things are working we should always do a read first before attempting to flash the radio. DO NOT use the -F option, EVER. That is probably the reason why you have that error. But the radio shouldn't be bricked as it turns ON.

Please report back.

Okey, i will not use the -F but then why cant it set the sck? Tryed setting it on 1000hz but same error then. And when i used the -f i got that it could not read the id. I will desolder and try without telementry after work today and report back.
Ells, i will order the lvl converter and redo it. :(

Tnx! ;)

It seems that the firmware in your programmer doesn't allow you to slow the programming down. There's a version of the firmware for the usbasp posted here in the forum somewhere that won't give the SCK error..
And when i used the -f i got that it could not read the id.

As I said, don't use it. You are lucky your radio is still turning ON

One step at the time. Let's get your radio flashed first, and then move to the telemetry. Could you take a good picture from your mainboard and post it here, please? Then we can all see if there is something wrong..

João

EDIT: You didn't answer my question above..
Do you have any resistor between the module serial and the radio mainboard?

Sry, yes i have resistors but dont know the ohm on them now. Will check that when i get home and post agin then. ;)
Super thx that you take the time. ;)

Ok, disconnect the telemetry lines from the module to the mainboard, and try to do an eeprom or flash read.. Use the option "Read eeprom memory to file", or "Read flash memory to file", or something similar.. I use eepe not companion, so I don't know the exact wording..
Good luck

The mod i made it after is this,
http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/ ... _Mod_FrSky
1K Ohm SMD resistor
and a 470 ohms resistor..

Uploaded all pictures on my g.drive.. hope thats ok..
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

What i know of Ive never had the module in when i tryed to read eprom..
And i have just tryed to read to file all the time..
Changed to Eepe and same there..

And the resistors for Reroute step are are two 200ohm.

I'm looking at your USBASP. I see several resistors on the back, and a 3.3V option. I'm guessing here, but those resistors, or some of them, may be in the programming signals. If so, they are likely to prevent the USBASP from working correctly. We have had a number of USBASPs with resistors in the signal lines and these don't work.

When i messured the atmel8a to the pinout i only get 2 ohms resistance?
But i have mailed the Maker of the asp and asked for the schematics.. If they now want to share.. :D

Have a USBISP also and updated my gdrive with that one..

Ive got the USBASP schematic now but cant se any resistors at miso / mosi
But there are one at the RESET R6 10K could it be that one?
Ive uploaded that also to the G.drive..

There is a jumper (JP3) to slow the SCK down.. You could try that.. Do a read to file

If there is a 10K resistor on the RESET signal going to programming pin, then this will stop things from working. There is a large value capacitor on the reset line on the 9X board.

jhsa, i have soldered pins there and tried that also..
Same error on SCK. :( sry, forgotten to mention that..

MikeB, Im sorry, think i miss read the schematics. The resistor is at pin 29 and not the 14nth witch is the isp/asp..

I have really read and tried before posting.. :/

I will order another ASP and try with that..
Hoping something is wrong with the usbasp..

If you going to buy another usbasp get it from rperkins who is a user from the forum. His programmers work. Could someone please post the link here? I can't find it at the moment. :(
Thanks
