EEPE and 9XR PRO

I am trying to backup models and write models to my radio via EEPE. I have the 9XR PRO not the 9XR. I know how to hold the aileron and rudder trim tabs to bring up the bootloader. Then plug in the usb cord to the usb port on the 9XR Pro. EEPE will not communicate with my radio.

I have included a screen shot of the error message I get along with showing that the radio shows up on my computer.

Hi, welcome to the forum..
You have to use eepskye with the 9XR-PRO.. The PRO uses the ersky9x firmware.
eepe is to be used with er9x that comes installed with the old 9XR (Not PRO)
Please go to eepe's installation folder, find "eepskye.exe", right click on it and select "Send to/Desktop (Create Shortcut)". This will place an eepskye icon on your desktop. Use it to start the program.
Now go to "File/Preferences"and configure it to the pro. Use the photo below as a reference. Choose your stick mode and the channel order you want to use. The other settings configure as in the picture..

Now go to the "Burn menu/Configure" and make sure the "Use Sam-ba" box is not checked.

You should now be able to connect the radio to eepskye

Good advice above.

In addition, keep in mind that two sources of possible problems are the cable and the USB port. Some cables were intended only for charging and don't provide a signal connection, but typically they look just like good cables. As for the ports, on my Dell, two of the ports on the front work fine, but two others, though they do most jobs, simply don't work for connecting with the transmitter. Then there's a problem with at least some USB 3 ports.

You will probably not have trouble, but keep these possibilities in reserve in case you do.

Edit: Too slow, but maybe it will help someone else.

Also, always make sure the USB connector is fully inserted in the radio. My radio for example, when was new, needed some extra pressure on the connector..

I found the eepskye and that worked like a charm. The transmitter connected right away and had no issues reading the memory or flashing the updated firmware. Thank you very much for the help.

Now I only need to learn all the advanced programing features :D

I think it might already be explained on the 9xr-pro manual? not the one from Hobbyking obviously, as it is only a part of the complete set of documents.
Have a look here:

Please check the file called "9XR Pro Using Eepskye Program 2014-03-26a.pdf"

JHSA, I was unable to contact you direct on eepe and eepskye. I have a Trex 450L and have found a FBL deep file for it. When I open it using deep all the mixes and such are there but if I open in eepskye it is blank. How can I import this eepe file into eepskye?
