Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
When I write my ER9X Eeprom to the Tx in companion9x V0.56 R812 I have to recalibrate my sticks. Is this normal?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
I'm curious if there is more explanation. I've been having quirky issues with calibration lately.
Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
Hmm never had a problem, I calibrated once after flashing the first time and never redid it, even across firmwares...
Of course I save and restore my EEPROM each time I flash.

Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
If you do not download your eeprom from the TX, all calibration data are reset to default and this happens using either eepe or companion.
A new eeprom cannot contain you radio calibration unless you copy general settings from an already calibrated one...

Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
In all fairness -- it might not be the TX - -because I'm dipping my toe into the craziness which is quadcopters -- and the flight controller or ESC's could be the cause -- or most likely it's the loose nut holding the transmitter.
Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
Just have a look at the main screen that shows the stick positions:
If they behave correctly there, then it's you
With the default calibration they are completely off (half of the stick travel does nothing).

I must try this. Which option does one use.Romolo wrote:If you do not download your eeprom from the TX, all calibration data are reset to default and this happens using either eepe or companion.

Read Eeprom from TX
or
Read Eprom memory to file
or does it matter?
Thanks
Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
Read from TX reads and shows you the document in C9X. Then you can edit it and save it to a file manually if you want.
Read to file just directly saves to a file, which you can of course later open to edit.
Just a slight practical difference

Thanks, that's what I thought.
Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?
The calibration data is part of the EEPROM file. If you are flashing a "new" file then the calibration data is new as well.
If you want a new file without the hassle of recalibrating, just copy the "General Settings" (at least in eePe, not sure about companion)

BEWARE - WE ARE IN THE AIR!!!
What goes up... Should be controlled by a 9X!

The same apply, as already stated, also to companion.. just copy general settings (or drag it from a calibrated eeprom to a fresh one).erazz wrote:The calibration data is part of the EEPROM file. If you are flashing a "new" file then the calibration data is new as well.
