Replacement 9x module?

Post by marhar »

I've bit the bullet and removed the antenna and module from my Turnigy 8x, replacing it with a FrSky.

I'm going to try to resolder the antenna, but if I'm not successful at doing this is there a replacement module I can purchase?

Groot,

For those of us not in Europe, do you have a link to a source of replacement FlySky modules (self-contained, with antenna)?

Thanx,

Groot,

Thanx for the reply. What I was trying to source is a single FlySky module like that in your link to Alibaba (they offer in lots of 20!). The other links are for a Corona module which is not compatible with FlySky's system. That said, I do have and happily use a Corona module in one of my 9x transmitters. Situation is a friend who damaged the antenna on his Turnigy 9x and will probably have to get a replacement FS module soon.

FlySky module caution
Some things worth mentioning.
First I opened one of my two FlySky modules  with antennas attached to map pin outs and found that the coax shield solder joint at the module was no longer soldered, cold joint hanging free. I think. It's worthwhile to open your module and double check if you have any range issues at all. I would do the same for the Turnigy, and I'm going to check all my unused modules.
Next ....
I only use Frsky DJT modules now and they're all internally modified to bring out TXD and RXD for er9x telemetry to the two unused module pins. To do this the same pins on 9x must be isolated and one that goes to ground needs to have the trace cut to free it, this is common knowledge for telemetry.
The thing to remember is unless you isolate the same pin connections in the original 9x modules you run the risk of damaging your modified 9x RS232 to TTL converter circuit I think when you plug in the module? I think the same pins for the telemetry mod must be free of ground or any connection in your original modules.
Comments welcome

Hi,

I am actually looking for a 9x module from a turnigy 9x NOT flysky or any kind with the antenna on the back... just the kind with the wire going into the TX.

I don't need to antenna just the module with the wire cut.

I hope I am making sense.

Thanks

Are you after an empty case? You can buy these from JR.

No, looking for the module from Turnigy 9x. With the wire cut. I need the case and the stuff inside.

I don't care if it is working or not. But need to whole thing

Thanks

Pins

Post by G550Ted »

Can someone confirm whether or not the JR case has the connector (pins) on the back? Or would you consider that the "front"? :)

Thanx,

Ted
