Wanted: spare mainboard

Post by Koarl »

Hey guys,

I have a tx with a "fubar" main board.
Has anyone a spare main board or a defective transmitter to strip out the board? I would also take a ersky or gruvin board. If somebody has a modded 9x, not to expensive, feel free to offer!

Thanks!

I may have a 9x with white backlight (always on), integrated programmer (mini-USB plug in the battery bay), speaker mod, telemetry mod with matching modded FrSky DJT module (removeable, no visible wires) to offer :)

I see. I thought you are from the german speaking part of switzerland.
I learned french too, but was never good at it. Espacially writing. Speaking was a bit easier.

So what's the price for the radio and did you also do a battery mod?

Thanks!

It´s a real pity, that I was so lazy in school. I would be able to speak perfect french now, If I had learned just a little bit.

Irgendwie komisch mit einem Deutschen auf Englisch zu schreiben, aber da das Forum hier so international ist, scheint es der Standard hier zu sein.

There is only one important phrase to remember in the German language, at least as far as the Taranis is concerned...

Das Taranis ist ein Eierlegende Wollmilchsau
Maintain thine airspeed.
Lest the ground arise and smite thee!

It seems to be! We will know as soon as the first are in customers hands.

May I correct you? In german we would say: " DIE Taranis"

Wondered about that, but have no idea on how the gender is arrived at for a radio :?

A teacher once told me that any new technology words are normally given Das in the German language...Zum beispiel...Das Computer.

I sent her into a flat spin by asking why a young girl is called Das Madchen. She could not explain why it was not Die Madchen :D

When trying to learn German at school we discussed "change" and the word Umsteigen. One pupil said "Ich Muss meine Hose Umsteigen" and the teacher almost collapsed laughing!

For the Taranis all I can say is that I have a serious case of "Haben Wollen" at the moment and will have to wait until the second batch is shipped :(

It's DER computer. :)
But das radio or die fernsteuerung, die funke. There is some flexibility in the gender of Taranis, depends on what generic word you use for transmitter.

PS: don't try to understand. It's hopeless. Few million on this planet are blessed with sucking up that language with their mother's milk. If we had the choice I'm sure most of us had learned something else.

Yes 13 different ways to say "the" makes it a somewhat difficult language to master.

I think they should consider that Taranis was a Celtic God (male) that was worshipped in Britain, Ireland and the Rhineland.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taranis

Interesting when Horus appears there will maybe be a battle between the Celtic and Egyptian gods for dominance of the Tx market :)

Can't it be repaired? what happened?
Some people here have repaired their boards even if it was quite damaged due to polarity reverse..

The Display is blank. We already tried another display from my TX and his display in my TX. Nothing.
So some of the fine connections on the MB must be faulty and I'm not handy enough to fix it.

I have a spanking new T9X stock board ready to part. Only I am in US, so the shipping could be heavy.

Had a similar problem with the display.
One of the 5k1 Ohm resistors located between the processor and the display connector was faulty.
Perhaps too much heat while installing rotary encoder ...
Replaced it and now the display works again.

I remember that a quite long while ago a friend of mine also had the same/similar problem.. it was also one of the 5K1 resistors
maybe it is worth measuring them.

When I parted out a 9x I quoted $10 int shipping for USPS first class. I probably used a padded mailer and bubble wrap to keep the weight down. It went to AU if I recall

bubble wrap and padded mailer? Won't the board be damaged if heavy handling is involved??
I have sent some precut 2mm square CF tube to a friend via 1st class mail and by the time he got it, it was smashed into carbon 'fiber' , literally.

Hey guys,
Thanks for your help!
I found a gruvin board. Anyhow I try to repair the other one. Today I took a meter, but I'm not very familiar with this tool. Can anybody tell my how to use it in this case and figure the problem out?

Thanks

Is there connections for a programmer to this MB ?
if so. Can you program the firmware with eepe or companion9x ?
Just wondering if the MCU is alive

How did it get blown ? was a battery connected backwards ?

I blew mine up once shorting out 2 of the pins on the module bay. It burned a wire trace on the back side of the little board in the middle, where the on-off switch is located. Mine didnt come on at all.

Plugging the battery in backwards is a common problem and has been documented on here I think
