Precautions before flashing or burning

I am new to the open9x software having just purchased a 9XR.

Are there any precautions I need to take before flashing new firmware or burning an eeprom update.

I am asking because I read somewhere that the TX module should be removed before flashng to the eSky board.... so I started wondering ....?

Nope, nothing special.
Removing module was only necessary after having done the old version of the telemetry modification.
