If you look at the base, there are cutouts in the plastic that could be filled/lined with rubber sheet (like what is used to back the backlight).
A trip to my local hardware store may reap some suitable material.

I noticed the 9x rocks back & forth when stood upright.
If you look at the base, there are cutouts in the plastic that could be filled/lined with rubber sheet (like what is used to back the backlight).

Can't hurt to try. Another idea is to make an insert to make the cutout flush and use any material you want on it.
I do have several LCD rubber backing pieces I removes so ill see what works.
I used a handle mounted stand so maybe some protection on the case where it touches is in order.
