Button replacements

Where to find parts? Refactoring your entire transmitter, new cases? Sticks etc..

Button replacements

Post by tilmanb »

I'm going to order stuff from Farnell soon. I would love to replace those horrible loud front buttons on my transmitter with some nice tactile but not clicking g ones.

It is a standard size, and I even have few in my parts bin. But they are also clicky. Shopping for buttons is terrible, way too many options and variants available.
I would hate to buy the wrong size or so. Does anyone perhaps know a product code for some nice ones that fit?

PS: I would also be interested in a good looking three way throw switch that does not look too different from the one on the radio already.

But the descriptions are Ok, know the size and all now. But the descriptions are all still pretty horrible.
Can't put stuff like 'nice and soft' into parametric search. :)

If you're just trying to muffle the sound I read somewhere that one used the foam from the origional LCD that had to be removed while doing a backlight mod to cut a small ring that fit around the switch. They claimed that it not only muffled the sound quite a bit but it also helped "pop" the buttons back, especially the "exit" button...
