It is an additional level of spam control.

The system flags up anything that is 'suspect' and passes is too moderation.

In your case, the two eBay links triggered it.

The system does 'learn' over time so will get more accurate :)

Yes.. Bertrand did tell me.

I need to trawl through the modules code and resolve!

My goal will be to akismet filter any posts that where

user < 1 month old
user != moderator
user != admin

As to be expected.. the phpbb mod is rather complex and 'injects' itself into miles of code - so not easy to get a quick fix.

Never mind.. will happen soon

Thanks for the reply.

I was resurrecting a thread > 6 months old. That may have increased the weight of my post also. Sounds like this is just something we are working through. My post was approved, so now just waiting on some of you guys with those inexpensive microscopes to comment :)

My parents are willing to get get me a microscope this year. Last year it was an MCPX. I cant imagine how much I've spent related to that present. It's been a fun year. You guys been part of that fun :)

I've tried posting several times and it keeps going to moderation. That was two days ago. Possibly because I'm a new member?

New members posts are always moderated as part of the anti-spam policy. Believe it is the first 3-5 posts.

Doing this prevents allot of spam as we get to verify members manually :-)

Darn that got approved fast . I hadnt even got done typing this up :)

I've got over 600 posts, been on the site over a year, and get a post kicked into moderation because it has one link Dangerous Prototypes Open Bench Logic Sniffer. ? Can you tell me why the post got kicked into moderation so I can attempt to avoid it. One link in a post seems awful tight IMHO. Thanks

EDIT - I guess I had 2 url links :oops:

I was just requested to approve my own post, happens once in a while...

I think the spam protection does random checks here and there.

Yea, that aint happened yet :) but now that I know it's a possibility, i can work towards it. :)

I was more impressed by the quicknesss of the moderation approval than peeved over being put in moderation. Combine that with the fact i didnt even remember how many links was in the post , overall , it was a positive, humbling experience :)
