Special fixes

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

Special fixes

Post by MikeB »

OpenTx has not been updated for a long time.
As a result, there are some problems appearing related to new features.
One of these is when binding ACCESS transmitters to Archer Plus receivers. The receiver options are not readable.
There is a simple fix which is adding a list of "known" receivers.
I have done this change, and can build a few versions, although with so many options I'm unable to build for everyone.

I'm attaching builds I have done.
Note that these are UNTESTED.
I've built from the 2.3.15 sources and they still report a version of 2.3.15.

I think the filenames indicate the correct options built, but I haven't fully checked against the defaults.

Yes, I prompted FrSky to schedule time for Bertrand to do this!

Thanks guys, just got an Archer plus to go with my (std) 'Horus X10' and had just upgraded to 2.3.15 when I found your post!
so might be just what I need until the 2.3.16 is released, hopefully not long now (?)

I'm new to loading Lua's, which folder would this .bin file need to be in on the sd card structure, please?
I can't find any guidance on it and the links to the Lua guides in my Taranis and Horus manuals don't seem to work anymore either.

oh one more question please... I can't find the radio build option to include 'luac' what am I missing?
'lua' is there no problem
Or is it auto-installed when 'Lua' is selected for the radio build as 'luac' is listed in the installed options menu on the radio but doesn't show in Companion.

many thanks, Brandon

I haven't built a version for the non-Express X10. I could look into building one!
To flash a .bin file you put it in the "firmware" directory on the SD card, then use the bootloader to flash the file.

I don't know about making sure luac is included, I don't normally build or use openTx, I maintain erskyTx.

lua support and luac have been included by default for ages, the "lua" option only adds support for lua mixer scripts and the related page, the other types are always supported.

Thank you Mike that's great, I'd appreciate that but only if 2.3.16 is still some time away, it would help me in the interim, but I don't want to put you to much trouble if the update gets released soon.

Many thanks

Thanks Kilrah,
I've had the x10 for a while, bought it second hand, been using a x9d+
but just started some new projects which take me into the Lua subject and wanted to set up and try out the x10,
so its new ground for me

Many thanks

I've built and posted (first post) a version for the X10 (non Express). I don''t have a X10 so cannot test it.

Hello Mike
May I kindly ask for your help.
We have a youngster in our club who needs a version for his X7Access-S (S-version radio).
We would appreciate your support.

I can't find any specific setting for the "S" version, and I note that in companion, the radio selection is for:
FrSky Taranis X7/X7S Access
so it appears the same binary file is used for both the normal and the "S" radios, as you cannot specify which radio type when downloading firmware.
