Upgrade from 2.1.9 - issues?

I have a Taranis X9D plus and have been running 2.1.9 for several years. I fly fixed wing planes.
I never saw the need to up rev the software – why introduce possible uncertainties if everything is OK?
BUT I have now encountered two instances where TX Companion simulation is wrong!
Ie where behaviour I see on the simulator differs from the model.
One reason I never up-rev’d is that I read a while ago is that 2.2 differs in some respect and you have to reprogram something… but I can’t remember what.
So I now have questions….
- Has anyone else ever encountered a model vs simulator behaviour deviation?
- Is 2.2 or 2.3 better in that respect? (is an upgrade really worth it?)
- What do I need to watch out for in upgrading (reprogramming required?)
- Which rev is the one to go for?
Many thanks
