I am successfully using the trainer output to wire my underwater rov. With the turnigy 9xr (openTX) I can only control 8 channels. I read that it is possible to use other 8 channels of the RF port output of the radio. The decoder is an arduino attached to the code I am using. Anyone use this method? could you connect another arduino and control the other 8 channels?

You can set OpenTX to put out 16 channels on the module port (top pin) and connect to that instead of the trainer jack.
