MasterRadio TX16S

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

Finally fumbled around long enough and got ersky loaded into the radio. Finally had a pane offering to extract the files, did so and viola!
Now to see how similar it is to er9x, but that will be tomorrow.
Could only get the radio connected via USB from bootloader. Why was that needful every time? The used TX16S I picked up at a swap meet for a backup
works upon connection of the USB cable.

Thank you, Mike

Hi Mike,
in my experiments with the multiprotocol module, I used the 2nd slot of the TX16S. I saw that in the protocol setting, shaft 2, the RX of shaft 1 is displayed under multi. so far good, but if I want to select another RX, the RX display disappears. I can no longer see and select RX.

Is this with the internal module enabled, AND with an external module also plugged in and enabled?

internal module deactivated, but was set with RX, then switched off.
external module switched on indicates setting of internal module with multi RX. a RX change causes a white field. When the module is plugged into the external slot, the RX are displayed

The multiprotocol module sends the name of the protocol and sub-protocol in use to the radio. I thing I only have a single buffer for this, so there will be a problem if you have two multi-protocol modules.

After setting the internal module, the data from the module is still in memory, so if you enable the external module, without a module plugged in, you will likely see the data left from the internal module.

Once you plug in an external module, it will update this information.

I probably need to have two buffers, one for each module.

Hi Mike,
with the module in the external slot, the RX setting works perfectly. The No Module feature isn't that important either, so the effort doesn't justify it.
it is important that the erskyTX software remains clear and works well.
Thanks for that, regards Phil

Hi Mike,
I downloaded the new software r 223 bin, it has 622 KB. my old r233 B5 has 499 KB.
where are the differences, I could not find anything.
I could not start the firmware from the bootloader, but with Companion.
Can it be that the start picture doesn't come up anymore? Immediately after the speech, without a picture, comes a work display.

My TX16S stopped displaying the "splash" screen for a while, but it is OK for me with r223.

The reason for the extra size is support for LUA scripts as been included. On a per model basis, you may select whenter to use BASIC or LUA. The setting is in the "Model Setup|General" menu. LUA scripts use much more memory and run much slower than BASIC scripts.
Not all LUA functions that are in openTx are in erskyTx, so not all existing LUA scripts for openTx will run, but some do.

I didn't want to do without the greeting, I think it's so nice, I don't need lua, so I reinstalled the old firmware.
Due to the last update of the erskyTX test versions, the differences from B1 r223 to B5 r223 are no longer visible. Can you break this down for me again?
Thanks greetings

I'll need to check back on changes.
Would you be able to test why the "Splash" screen is not displaying if I post a test version that tries to locate the problem?

I've found a possible problem causing the "Splash" screen to stop displaying (my Horus X12 wasn't displaying it properly).
I've done a change and posted a test version for the RM TX16S.
Please test.

Hi Mike,
I installed the new software with eepskye in the first step.
Splash works!
then I checked the version, all correct P1 r224.
Then I searched for Lua, not available!
Control of the bits in the PC, only 499!! why?
step2, software installed with companion, same picture. Lua is missing, only 499 instead of 622 KB.
step3 Software from TX deleted again via PC and flashed again with eepskye. Splash present, Lua absent; Version in TX is displayed correctly: tx16s_romP1r224

Not sure about your 499, if the firmware displays the version as P1 r224, then it has flashed correctly as this text is near the end of the 622k.

LUA scripts are selected on a per model basis in the Model Setup|General menu (last item).

Yes Mike lua is displayed. However, I cannot test the function.
splash is always present after turning it on several times.

Hi - I will be joining the 'RM gang' soon. ( so far I was ' holding on tight ' to my good old FlySky 9X , thanks to Mike's multiple and patient updates of the er9x firmware for it ).

Hopefully the new TX16S should be delivered to me next week.
Apparently they now come flashed with EdgeTx so as to take advantage of the touch screen. However I am considering running it with erskyTx instead of Edge Tx - I liked er9x very much so I suspect erskyTx would be the closest to what I know in terms of programming my aircraft, and I don't care much about the touch screen.

I ordered the so-called Mark II edition from RM. And it seems there's a bit more hardware fixes than just the Hall Sensor drift improvement.

 So my question is : has anyone successfully tested erskyTx ( tx16s_rom.bin r223 or the r224 in the test section here ) onto the Mark II TX16S hardware at all ?
(I searched a bit here and on RCG as well , but saw no mention of the Mark II.)

Hello!

Maybe this is a new topic...Is it possible to bind two receivers to the tx16s? I want to use a trike take-off dolly with an extra receiver (controlling the "nose whhel" of the dolly) for my edf model in order to keep a straight take-off run. I have used the dolly with my previous radio, a Futaba Fasst rx/tx. In that case, you can bind more than one receiver to the radio and chosen model.

I use Lemon RC 7 channel TLM receivers. They work extremely well but I have no information on if and how you can bind two receivers to the TX16S for one specific model. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Anders

latest software erskyTx P12r224 downloaded and installed. touch screen works! You can use the buttons or touch, I think it's good! Now Radiomaster TX16s makes sense.

I'm working through all the menus. Those with the "Exit" arrow at the top left corner have been re-written. Others with the "Exit" button at the top right have not yet been done.
On a menu with a scroll bar, you may drag the scroll bar to move quickly through the menu.

Hello Mike, is it possible to make the top left button, left arrow back, bigger and thicker on the display? I know that some displays will be tight, greetings phil

The display resolution is 480 wide by 272 high.
At present, I detect the "back" arrow being touched less than 55 horizontally and less then 50 vertically, a larger area than the actual arrow image.
I first tested this on a FrSky X20 that has a flat area around the screen so it is easier to touch the screen in the top corner.
I may be able to increase the detection area, I'll investigate.

Hi Mike,
I have optimizations:
The penultimate button "Page" to jump only left-right, better on both sides, left-right-left

Current button functions:
SYS - MENU
RTN - EXIT
PAGE> - UP
PAGE< - LEFT
TELE - DOWN
MDL - RIGHT

So the MDL button provides to opposite of the PAGE< button.

Hello Mike, I've also thought about "exit button". on many pages you use the top right corner with a square button, e.g. model setup. would be an option for all sides to introduce this button. the upper left small arrow could be omitted if it were uniform.

I'm actually changing all screens to use the top left corner as the exit. The button at the top right was something I quickly added when I first got touch working so it now appears by default if a screen has not been converted to be "touch friendly".
Many devices appear to use an arrow at the top left as a "back" (exit) function so I thought that would be a good idea.

I've been testing using an area 55 by 50 pixels in the top left corner as the touch area for detecting "Exit". This seems to work well. In comparison the "Exit" button at the top right is 50 by 50).

the erskyTX user interface is very easy to understand and logically structured, so that only visual operating details have to be adapted to the touch screen.

Hi Mike,
I upgraded firmware R224P12 for TX16S and I found two bugs. For your reference.

I have the fix for the expo setting bug.
Please confirm the bind (with the same settings) was working before you did the upgrade to R224P12.
