[PROBLEM] SAM-BA v2.11 not flashing properly

Post by Playmobil »

I've got everything working few hours ago: Sky9x board + Rotary + Speaker + USB Din Cable + HK Led Backlight.
All was working really really nicely. Awesome!!!
I just tried to update it by the first time following carefully the Wiki instructions.
It did all really really fast and asked me for locking. Of course, I said NO.
Anyway... unfortunately all I have now is a blue blank screen
Neither USB is not showing anymore...

Please, guys, what I'm doing wrong? And how to solve that?

OS: Windows 7 64bits
Software: SAM-BA v22.11 (x86 install)
USB driver: installed from disk (from sam-ba_2.11/drv)
Cable: official USB Din (power jack hole install)

Thanks in advance! ;)

If you experience that, all you need to do is erase and reflash the board.

Resuming Step by step:

#01 - Set the "Erase" jumper on the board
#02 - Turn the board ON (wait a bit... )
#03 - Turn the board OFF
#04 - Unset the jumper
#05 - Turn it on by plugging the USB cable
#06 - Reprogram the Chip using SAM-BA --> Select the ROM file and click "Send File"
#07 - Say NO to the locking question
#08 - Execute the Script using SAM-BA --> Select "Boot from Flash (GPMVN1)" and click "Execute"
#09 - Close SAM-BA
#10 - Unplug the USB cable
#11 - Turn the radio ON normally

;)

You may need to 'reset' the board.

On the board is a jumper that needs to be bridged to do this.

I have no idea what the specific procedure is for doing this!

I would highly recommend using companion9x to do the flash. IMHO it can help solve these problems; as is hides the sam-ba interface from you

...........if you think it should be in the wiki.. ask me for wiki access, then go add it!

Read viewtopic.php?f=7&t=545#p6423, steps 6 and 7 for how to erase the chip and reprogram it, including setting the boot option fuse.

YAY! Problem solved. =)
Many thanks Rob and Mike!!!

[Jumping] + [Turning On to Erase] + [Reprograming] + [Scripting to load from Flash]. Voila!!!
Now I'm running r96.

I'm super happy. Though the Rotary Encoder still doesn't work.
Why that? Wasn't it introduced at r88?
Is there some extra setup to make it work? (I've tried to enable/disable scrolling by pot. Only the pot works.)
