Un-writable / faulty micro sd cards

I have recently bought a number of micro sd cards from different suppliers and found that I was unable to write or format them :? I've tried numerous methods I found on the web using Windows 10, various software etc, all to no avail. Linux reports successful format, but is lying to me. Any other bods here had similar experience lately. I suspect a bad batch has snuck in from Asia. :o

Thanks for the pointer JHSA that was one of the first solutions I tried, this also stated read-only with this card.

How are you reading the card? With an adapter? I think some adapters might have a little tab that you can move to "write Protect" them? Please check if it is not the case..
