Now that the 3D printers are in the $1000 range , it wont be long before someone "prints" his new Radio box.

yup.. you know it. I have friends who built their own 3d cnc machine, and working on their 3d printer... I've already approached them with some challenges.. the brothers are totally up for anything I throw their way. THey're crazier than me, great guys, and are geeks through and through. Kindred spirits. They're blown away with what I've been showing them with the 9x and what sky9x will be capable of...

I seriously wouldn't use a computer that isn't dedicated to the task of running the radio. I think a multitasking OS is just asking for trouble. I can imagine it crashing while doing a low pass.... Not a good idea.

I know for sure i have seen some one making his own case for the Turnigy.
Like a multiplex box "pult" is what we call them , all square.
In rcgroups or some drone site i can´t find it again , so frustrating.

Yup, I'm one of those sniffers I guess, that know what your talking about,,,I compiled a list of links for someone a while ago, all from the rcgroups site of custom cases for the 9x inards... some of them were what we call "tray" types.

Cause, i like random blue screens, knowing your screen is blue isn't the same as the anticipation of that wonderful blue screen popping up at the most inconvenient time, kinda like russian roulette... But without bullets.

My backkight randomly shuts off now anyways, depemding on my model, the bl may or may not stay on after i change a screen... Randomly

I along with many others, I hate the old antenna hole sitting on top of the controller...

If we don't go with making that a serial or USB port, how about installing an LED (for a field flashlight) and making it SW controllable?

Just a thought...

I am currently working on building a case....3d printer needs to be finished first...might also design a tx and rx to go along with the new design these guys have made.
