Thank you for your input. That is great, i'm going to have to get one. For that price and what you get, how could you not! And your right, look at our TX and what they can do with a little work.

Getting Pheonix RC V3 working with er9x on 6 channels

Post by Westy »

I Just finally got mine up and running with ER9x ..... whew 2 hours later (inluding resistor fix = 20 mins)... with 6 channels including Idle Up and Throttle hold. :D

Using A Standard USB Dongle into your PC and 3.5 Jack into your TX ..... and Using a Simulator Emulator Speciffically for Pheonix RC (Will not go into that as that is another can of worms I have covered off setting that up on my You Tube Channel - rent2ownnz ... you can get the emulator by googling ... PhoenixRC_emu_v0_3.rar (if you found your way here I am sure you know how to use all your resources :P
I did my resistor fix direct in the TX module itself very simple ... I used a huge 1K resistor (old school) as it was the only one I had in stock haha ... cheap skate I know....

========================================
Now Here is what I found with mine:

I tried the Standard 4 channel mix and it just would not work  as Channel 1 Was dead!!!! :geek: but working on my TX for that I was sure (can't fly without it right? :)

Anyhow I started Experimenting and even my working modle would not work as everything was mixing etc.... Here is the config I got to work.

1. Create New Model with No Mixing whatsoeva
2. in Menu 2/10 "Proto" I selected PPM ------6CH------300uSec
3.exit out of that and go to Menu 5/10 MIXES
4. Create the Following Mixes
CH1 100% AIL
CH2 100% ELE
CH3 100% THR
CH4 -100 MAX THR This sets up your throttle cut Switch to work on its normal switch
CH5 100% MAX ID1c5 (c5 = Curve 5 which is of course your Idle Up Curve) This sets up your ID1 Switch to work on its normal switch
CH6 100% RUD

Open your Pheonix RC V3....
Go To System and Set up new Transmitter
.... follow your nose from there ... or I am doing a tutorial right now for it and will you tube it very soon :)
cheers
Westy

Oh .... and here is the You Tube Tutorial I promised :)

And ..... I was thinking about 10 hours after posting this ...... why not just give you all the EEPM config to load into Eepe and flash to your tx to save you time and effort?

so .... here it is! Enjoy

yes ... it does work ... I have flown them yesterday with it  .... you do need to set up the Plane settings further down and make sure you ailerons are set up with opposite throw...... here is a Screen shot

Image

Make sure you tick the Invert on the left and right Elevator and the Left Aileron
one interesting thing I noticed .....

Even Though in the actual TX ... I mixed channel 4 for throttle cut in the tx and CH 6 for Rudder, The Pheonix system see the reverse :?:

You Could Try playing with the channel 5 and put something like this to get your gear retract to work

CH5 100% MAX GEA

This should allow your gear switch to work with the Pheonix system on channel 5 ..... give it a go :D

I will give it a crack also ..... however it may upset my heli settings and that is what I mainly use the sim for.

You could always map the throttle cut as your gear retract which is what I do.

Right I have got this working for a plane now :)

Basically you have to load and callibrate two different set ups into Pheonix RC

I have it set up like this ....

I have my configs in my tx like this:

Image

My Plane Mixing is like this

Image

... and have two completely set up and callibrated profiles in Pheonix like this:

Hope this helps

Yes... you will have cross mixing issues

I think you may have to completely unmap all the mixing on all the control functions on Pheonix RC ..... then assign them independantly like in My you tube vid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsaQHuO5ydk

You simply click on the mapping drop down list and move he one you want for that control .... then select it. then if you want to reverse it tick the INV box

Hope this helps ... if not ... then let me know and I will try to help..... as much as I can anyway :ugeek:

I got it fix, however I cant get it to work in Phoenix. I'm guessing its because I'm not using a usb plug. I'm using the stereo cable plugged in the mic jack. I did get it to work with RF but no flaps or gear ch

Also, when I plug the cable in, I get a buzzing sound from my speaker. Is there a fix for that?

IT wont work...

Phoenixrc needs a usb dongle. You dont have it,forget it.

with standard mono plug you can use FMS or Clearview and it wil use standard 4 channels ;)

also...if you got it to work with RF then you have smartpropoplus ...so you know what i mean ;)

is your joystick a USB?..... try setting it up with the Joystick and then plugging it in once the sim starts...

Oh and you must run it as admin too

Did you try the instructions?

plug in any usb joystick as well as your transmitter...... run in two player mode and play with the settings?

then re set up on one player.

I have it set up on both my Dynam $13.00 Sim and my Th9x Turnigy..... works sweet as...... I did do the Trainer port resistor fix though
