Can you confirm that you have bind between your XJT module and X8R receiver ?

Receiver led is solid green.
I noticed there is a selection for "receiver number". Would this have anything to do with it?

There is also a menu item called "logging" Everything seems to be checked in this list. Should they all be checked?

Solid green is what the X8R should be when it is connected with its XJT module.
There are different ways to make the Bind and Mode 2 and Mode 3 are without Telemetry working.
Are you making the Bind using Mode 5 (D16) process ? :?:
X8R manual.zip
X8R FrSky Manual .ZIP (download and un-zip .pdf file)
(448.14 KiB) Downloaded 260 times
XJT manual.zip
XJT FrSky Manual .ZIP (download and un-zip .pdf file)
(164.92 KiB) Downloaded 241 times

I have not used the logging, but I believe it dose not affect the Telemetry.

Yes X8R is bound correctly, no jumper, solid green, mode 5

I am not sure where the trouble is, maybe Mike B. will have an idea.

To review, you had some of telemetry working (RSSI), but after flashing to the newest erSky9x firmware (9XR-Pro),
now there is no telemetry at all.
You should be seeing the RSSI and your photo is showing nothing now (viewtopic.php?f=122&t=10152#p128227).

Could try this, With radio off remove the XJT module and plug it back in.
A wild thought that maybe pin 5 (bottom) is not making connection with the XJT.

When I have had trouble in the past (2013) with S.Port telemetry failing not to work,
this what I did: when making bind I had to have the S.Port sensors connected
to the X8R receiver. When I made bind not having S.Port sensors connected,
I then did not get S.Port telemetry working.

Maybe Mike or João will see this and have better ideas to where your problem is.

It could be that the pins on the 9XR-PRO are too short. It wouldn't be the first..

Another question, if you set the date and time in "Radio Setup / Date-Time", do the settings remain correct after you reboot the radio?

No. After setting the time and pushing "menu long", the time settings revert back to zero or default.

Ok, open the radio. Remove the back, and lay the radio with the sticks facing down and the top of the radio away from you. On the right side you will see a button battery mounted vertically. Replace it. Now try to set the time and date, check the invert COM1 option in telemetry, and check if the telemetry now works..

Replaced battery, and tried to set time and date. The time and date settings would not hold. I tried using the "exit" button to see if that would set the time but no go. Tried using the "menu long" method and no luck.
-Successfully rebound receiver several times and confirmed by solid green on receiver, and THR up started the timer consistently.

Make sure you installed the RTC battery the right way round..

Yes, it's labeled. Tried both ways just in case.
Positive is facing toward the inside of the tx.

make sure that the RTC battery is actually charged then.. Sometimes they are already flat when we buy them.. :)

Man. this is very frustrating.
I decided to try to download the firmware again to get a fresh start. I have the eepesky program loaded. Where do I get the actual firmware?

Www.er9x.com for the Latest release..

I'm not at home at the moment, but I'm sure someone will also post a link to the test versions before I get home. :)

ok the firmware is updated again. I there anyway to "copy" the precise settings from your screen? Time and date still do not function. Is my "new and unused" radio defective?

Did you actually measure the voltage of the RTC hattery?

Sorry for the delay. I measured the voltage at 3.04 V so I think the battery is OK. Still time and date will not hold.

Yes. Positive is facing inside the radio, or left as you face it.

Positive is the outside of the battery.. I believe the negative connects to the contact inside the battery holder

Yes. That is how I have it. Should I reset, re-flash the transmitter to see what happens? Would clearing all my settings maybe help, in case I input the wrong parameters?
