Ersky-9xr Test Firmware 26Jun

Post by Suncoaster »

I have just tried to load this firmware on my 9XR Pro and it does not work. I end up with static coming from the speaker and just hash displaying on the screen. I tried to install it both ways, by copying it to the SD card and flashing from there and also flashing via Eepskye. The results are the same. Reverting to an earlier version works fine. Is there a problem with this version or am I doing something wrong.

I just downloaded the .zip file and flashed the ersky9xr_rom.bin file in it to my 'PRO. It all worked OK.

Are you sure you used ersky9xr_rom.bin rather than ersky9x_rom.bin?

This is the file I used, I added the date to the filename for identification purposes.

Just flashed that file to my 'PRO and it all works correctly!

I assume you have tried flashing it more than once?

I just flashed my PRO with the latest version and the radio started normally. No problems so far.

Mike, is it possible that the bootloader's version might have something to do with it?

The bootloader should have no effect as far as this problem is concerned.

Hi mike,

As I said in the initial post I flashed it twice, once from the file on the SD card and once from eepskye, but I will try again.

Dave

OK, I have now done more testing and the last version I can get to load successfully is dated the 3rd of May. One other thing I discovered is that if I press the menu key with the hash on the screen it displays in a large font "LOADING RAINBOW" which is the first model in the list. I thought it might be a corrupt SD card so I replaced that with a new one, but this had no effect.

Over to the brains trust, meanwhile I will continue working on the problem.

PPS. The problem was traced to a corrupt SD card, I replaced it with a NIB card which I rebuilt from backup files and all is now well.

Once again thanks for your help.

Dave
