I'd like to load new firmware into Turnigy 9XR using 2013 USBAsp (as BETEMCU.CN usbasp components only 1 side) along with OpenTX.
Before doing so, I'd like to read the existing firmware.
Using OpenTX "Read Firmware from Radio":
The file read out is 128k and looks like this (repeating through the 128k):
Clearly, this is not the actual firmware contents... it's just binary counting, doubled.
This usbasp is Atmel Mega8L-8MU processor.
This is the AVRDUDE Configuration:
and the reading appears to proceed normally... the read out data just looks wrong, wrong, wrong.
Do any of you happen to see what is wrong with this, or know why the readback is not and expected binary file? (the 00..FF repeats throughout the entire file, and that file is here: 128k bin file of junk
Thanks in advance for any insight... possibly the usbasp needs to be reprogrammed? (ps: there is no resistor pack on this programmer, and it is exactly the '2013' programmer with no components on the back side, and a 6-pin connector)

Re: 9XR initial read of flash doubtful
That is normal. HK have set the 'PROTECT' fuse that prevent you reading the flash (and another fuse that prevents you reading the EEPROM!).
