As unfortunate as it may sound - but the adapter idea is not a good one . Well... it does fit, but i'd rather it didn't.. The diameter of the default gimball is a bit smaller, and you stiil to need to work with a file to fit everything.. And after you're starting to use a file - there is absolutely no need for an adapter ..

After the summer is over, i'll come back for the idea of the whole case redesign.. I really hope that my ersky board will finally arrive(can you believe it - it is in shipping for more than a month!) and the design will be focused on dual screen aurora 9 gimballs case, or, as you may call it - a completely new system, that has very little to do with the original turnigy..

Came back to the idea of the new case for the radio. Based upon my last project(i did a custom hull and full canopy for my copter) it may take a _while_... But in any case - it has to be started, and done anyway. As a stock case is being simply pathetic for such a great hardware and software.

Bought a couple of kilos of some modeling clay. Will prototype something nice and comfy to use, before moving onto the CAD.

Made a clay proto case, seems nice. Will give it a thought over a week or so, if everything goes well - will start modelling the in CAD.

One thing i really worry - is the weight distribution, and have absolutely no clue on how to calculate one on such a complex form...

if you are doing in 3D CAD, can't it tell you the volume for certain section and go from there?

I have been designing custom cases for the FrSky Taranis radio, the first I did was for myself since I am a tray style user and didn't like the cheap case of the Taranis but love the radio total functions. So after designing it I sent the files to have it done in aluminum CNC from solid

for those who think you can design, and make a new casing , for little money , you are dreaming , one offs are very expensive

I think Horus will be the evolution. At least it won't be borrowing the case from another radio because apparently it will be designed by frsky.

The Stick Assembly is from C&H and this one has a button on top which I tied in parallel with one of the switches (spring load )
