Here's one I put together for my 9XR running er9x. It uses the 3 position switch to turn SAFE on and off, and the AIL switch for rates.

The nano QX uses a momentary switch to select between safe and acro modes. So I put mine on the trainer switch.

Using this file on er9x with custom dsm2 module with radio from dx4e. Changed to protocol dsm/type dsm2only. Got it to bind, but will not respond to sticks. Copter comes on with full red led. Cannot change to SAFE mode with 3-pos switch.

Finally got my nano flying.
The previous file from josephizf, modified to DSM2:DSM2/DSMX + fixed Expo.
For some reason my expo for throttle was 35,70 so I was capping @ -70 for the low-end of the throttle curve. I changed it to -100/100 for the end points and sure enough I got a blue LED and throttle works!
I might try KAL's file for the heck of it too. I'll pull it up in eePe and check it out. I think I like the idea of the trainer for the safe more so than the 3-pos.

Next project may be to either put in a external port for programming my 9x or trying to stuff an arduino pro mini + bluetooth inside to use as a programmer. Right now I have to pull it apart every time I want to get at my programming header. Also, I still need to stuff my spektrum module into an actual module case as it's just exposed right now.

Before I put an USBASP inside the 9x I placed the 10pin-header in the battery compartment.
It still had enough room beside the lipo.
