Betemcu.cn Usbasp schematic and board layout

Post by rperkins »

I have plans to use these programmers as development boards. Sorta like a mini arduino. So I needed a schematic and the board layout. Maybe this will help someone else. Inlined pics of the 2013 version are for preview. Downloadable files include pdf's and source files in Gschem and Gimp. This time I remembered to embed the symbols into the schematic :)

There are 3 versions of this board
2011 - components on both sides. Includes 3.3V regulator for low power targets
2012 - NA - components on one side. Doe not include 3.3V regulator
2013 - components on one side . Includes 3.3V regulator for low power targets

~~~Differences~~~
  • The 3.3V regulator has changed
  • 2011 - Uses a AMS1117/Ds1117 type regulator that can provide ~1000ma
  • 2012 - no regulator
  • 2013 - Uses a XC6206/(6621 marked) regulator that can provide ~250ma
  • Handling of pins 4 and 6 on the 10 pin IDC connector
    The usbasp original schematic at http://www.fischl.de/usbasp/, included a serial data connection to debug your MCU after flashing. The firmware was never finished for this feature. Different implementations of USBASP handle this in different ways
  • 2011 - the PDO, PD1 lines are taken to ground through a resistor. The IDC pins 4 and 6 are grounded
  • 2012 - Dont know
  • 2013 - the PD0,PD1 lines are routed through series resistors to the IDC pins 4 and 6
Updated first post with information on the newest version of the betemcu usbasp programmer. Updated schematics and layouts. The 2011 version is no longer available from the manufacturer AFAIK.
EDIT - 9/4/2013. Fixed schematics as the D+ and D- usb lines were reversed. Updated preview images to latest version
