There are 3 versions of this board
2011 - components on both sides. Includes 3.3V regulator for low power targets
2012 - NA - components on one side. Doe not include 3.3V regulator
2013 - components on one side . Includes 3.3V regulator for low power targets
~~~Differences~~~
- The 3.3V regulator has changed
- 2011 - Uses a AMS1117/Ds1117 type regulator that can provide ~1000ma
- 2012 - no regulator
- 2013 - Uses a XC6206/(6621 marked) regulator that can provide ~250ma
- Handling of pins 4 and 6 on the 10 pin IDC connector
The usbasp original schematic at http://www.fischl.de/usbasp/, included a serial data connection to debug your MCU after flashing. The firmware was never finished for this feature. Different implementations of USBASP handle this in different ways - 2011 - the PDO, PD1 lines are taken to ground through a resistor. The IDC pins 4 and 6 are grounded
- 2012 - Dont know
- 2013 - the PD0,PD1 lines are routed through series resistors to the IDC pins 4 and 6
