PPM16 ?

Post by BieneFlyer »

Hey all,

More confusion.

I have the Trex 500 heli template (that I got from here) and in the eePe editor, under 'MIXES' Menu, the model template is using 16 Channels (Channel 11 being the highest of these 16 used).

If I go back to the first sub menu, 'SETUP' - 'Protocol' it is set for PPM

Should I leave that as is or change it to PPM16 for it to work properly ?

Totally befuddled by all this.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

BF:)

The channels above 8 in the template are "virtual channels", i.e. they are used only as temporary variables for the setup to work, they don't need to be transmitted to the model.

Thanks for that.

I must be getting senile. having a real hard time getting my head around this Tx.

I can't even figure out how to assign a switch to say turn lights on & off. All this IF X = Y stuff is beyond me.

Can you help me with that too please ?

Cheers :)

Need to know how your lights are supposed to be controlled. Is it a remote controlled switch conneted to a free channel of the receiver?

Therefore I have modified my templates menu to offer a 'Switches' template that adds a 2 position and a 3 position switch.
So it's easy to check, how to setup a switch

Thanks kilrah,

Yes, I'd like to be able to turn a set of nav lights on and off from say channel 7 or 8 with the gear switch.

The lights plug directly into the Tgy (V2) 8 Channel Rx.

Just add a 100% FULL Switch(GEA) on the channel in question.

Ok,

I went into my Trex 500 template in eepe and opened the MIXES Menu

I edited the CH07 line to read; +100%FULL Switch (ELE)

Is that correct ? Seems to work ok in the simulate mode. By the way, I had to chose another switch as Rudder offset is assigned to the GEAR switch.

Am I correct in assuming if I chose for example (!ELE) the switch direction is reversed ???

Thnx

Exact :)
You could use -100% instead as well.

Thanks for your patience Kilrah,

It's slowly starting to make sense.

Lot's of ways to achieve the same result too it would seem. :)
