[IDEA] Simple revision control / autobackup for EEPROMS

Post by sgofferj »

Hi,

based on Kilrah's workflow, I'd like to suggest additional features for c9x.

- automatically backup EEPROM files [✓]
- path for backup-files configurable in preferences [✓]
- configurable in preferences (never backup, backup on flashing new firmware, backup on flashing new firmware and on flashing new EEPROM)
- meaningful backup-file names (at least date and time)
- additional information saved in c9x config or separate journal file

- then MAYBE later, additional "go back to EEPROM"-menu/button which opens a select window to choose from older EEPROM versions.

Opinions?

-Stefan

Edit:
Better structured, added marks for existent functionality

If you check in companion9x preferences.

The auto backup option is there. You just need to enable it.
Slope Soaring, FPV, and pretty much anything 'high tech'
...........if you think it should be in the wiki.. ask me for wiki access, then go add it!

Already there! Look in the preferences ;)
OK, maybe not as complete.

Personally never used it, for all my data backups I prefer the good old manual method.
It's always the day you need a backup that you notice the automated thing has been failing for a month.

Ok, I forgot the [✓]'s in the list :D. Sometimes I suck at writing down my thoughts in a structured manner :). My focus was more like on going into the direction of a simple RCS.
