Quite often lately i have the need to program the latest (not yet released) build of open9x to my 9x in order to test some new code pieces that bertrand checked in.
I do not have a linux system around, so building it by myself is not that easy.
Wouldn't it be possible to add an option to companion(9x) that would enable us to build the current code version? Maybe a cmdline switch, or if (for security reasons) this is not wanted maybe a "one time code" that works only for a specific build?
i don't know the backend system behind companion, but this would be a nice feature...

No need for Linux, I do everything on Windows (apart from UI work on the sim)... It's pretty easy, even João managed to setup a build environment ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
I did suggest a separate compilation server for current svn or old revision builds, but it's not as easy as that...

Re: Use companion to build/program the latest code?
I didn't find a "convincing" instruction yet
so i didn't try, but still.... As i understood companion uses a backend system that builds the version on demand ( if it haven't been done yet), so wouldn't it be possible to do this for the most current version as well (after accepting a proper disclaimer first of course....)?
