Mod Speakers To Power LED To Flash With The Music

Post by A1Entertainment »

Hi all,

I am after some help with regards to wiring some LED lights to my passive speakers. I used to have a pair of Skytec Speakers which had this feature installed however after they had been replaced several times I gave up on them.

The link below shows these speakers in action and the LEDs are powered through the passive speakers via the Amp/Mixer desk I have also included a link for this below.

Old Speakers

Amp

New Speakers

I know that the LEDs in the old speakers where powered by by the current being supplied form the amp to the speakers as no other power source was used and i would like to use the same feature on the new speakers however I am sure that you are not able to just wire them directly to the speaker cables without going through some sort of resistor etc. Would any of you have a wiring diagram that could help me with this mod?.

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards
Steve

At first I thought it was spam... But it is actually posted well in 'other electronic projects'.

So not too far off.

Plenty of electronic gurus here who are likely able to help.

...........if you think it should be in the wiki.. ask me for wiki access, then go add it!

Blame me.
I thought a little led color flashing would trick out our tx for those that night fly and want to be noticed.
Something for everyone ha ha.

I'm all over that -- you know I love bling -- but I missed the part where his (otherwise awesome) speakers technology would apply to our TX.

Yes, it got way out there didn't it!
Ok, maybe it's time to abandon the topic.
