Sugru Liquid Rubber

Post by Rob Thomson »

So..I was trawling another forum.

http://www.rcmf.co.uk

And saw a post mentioning this product.

http://sugru.com

Now... I have never used it, but it makes me think it may be usefull in some mods or repairs on the 9x case.

Cool, looks like pre mixed milliput.

I use thermo plastic clay and milliput or green stuff to make parts.

perfect for making sd and other slot for er9x, if the drilling doesn't need to be precise any more and can make slot/surface for sd /connector to slide right in. and can make any wires to a 'connector' with handles. ;)

bookmarked.

Worked with SUGRU - it is a nice alternative to other materials. I personally wold describe it as "rubber clay". Not applicable in some cases, but in general - it does the job as advertised )) Not cheap, for large projects, though! The best way - is to buy and try it - i personally used 4 large sacks just for the sake of "what else can i do with it" ))) Surprisingly addictive, my wife adores this sugru stuff )

P.S. When fitting the Aurora gimbals used sugru, and later on i've modified my 9x case for bettter grips.
P.P.S. But my personal favorite - is custom made grips for different tools - really, really handy!

Can this be used to mold and then make replacement tx antenna hole plug for a Turnigy 9x using a FkySky plug as a master?

Of course in a year or so we will be using a 3D printer. Someone printed a complete plane recently.

There is a vid on youtube I saw the other day....

Looks like the RC model shop will be selling printers in the future and if you want a different plane, they just sell you a model plan on a CD to take home. ;)
