companion9x ersky9x problem

Hi,

I used sam-ba (2.12) to flash to transmitter, but I cannot get it to work in companion9x.
All actions stop at the end like this log from reading the eeprom:

Eeprom downloaden naar disk does work but with exit code 1. Importing that file works but things like mixer sources are not right. Thr instead of TrmT for example.

Companion9x compiled from svn. Open9x r1183 eeprom v211

Can you upload here a zip of your eeprom ??
About impossibility to flash, it's strange, but I'm using sam.ba 2.11
May you try an older version ?

Did find 2.11 somewhere. And it works! Thanks!
So there is a problem with the 2.12 release.

But the problem with the mixing sources still exists.
Reading my old eeprom didn't recognize the TrmT and converted it to Thr.
Flashed r1195.
And wrote the wrong sources back to the transmitter.
Changing it back to TrmT in c9x and flashing the eeprom fixes it
But reading it back again converts it back to Thr.

So there seams to be a problem with reading eeprom v211 TrmT mixer sources.

Try installing SAM-BA somewhere other than program files(x86). Win-7 makes this and its sub-directories read-only. The Sam-ba (2.12) release notes refer to running it in admin mode because of this. I very seldom ever install in the default program files directory on Win-7 now. I have my own C:\progs directory where I put things, saves all sorts of silly problems.

I reinstalled sam-ba 2.12 in c:\bin and started companion9x with administrator rights, but it doesn't work.
After that I deinstalled 2.12 and installed 2.11 and it worked.

So 2.11 works for me on windows 7 64 and on ubuntu 12.04.
And 2.12 doesn't work for me on windows and not on ubuntu.

Same eeprom mixer source TrmT read bug on the default windows version.

I just tested it and it works! Great! Mixer source TrmT problem is gone.

But I found a small problem, the "Navig RotEnc" is always "No" when you read the eeprom and flash it back.
Do I have to create an issue for it?

I had the same exact problem and fixed it by installing 2.11 in win7 in a new directory. c:\sam-ba. I gave the EVERYONE group full rights to the folder.

I had to idea how to get the SVN or make it work.

I just installed 2.11 in the default location without adjusting rights and it did work also. Has anybody 2.12 working?

I don't know, on my windows 7 64bit only 2.11 is working, with 2.12 it works if I run companion with administrative rights.

Guys, I have question.. I compiled the Open9X with WinARM GCC, I uploaded to the radio ErSky9X PCB by Companion, but I have problem with EEPROM. When I'm trying to upload my EEPE file from earlier last version of Open9X for ARM from Companion compiling v1195, the new file version compiled by WinARM v1220 won't accept the previous EEPROM file and its formatting EEPROM. Also when I download EEPROM from ErSky and try update it with data and I upload the same file back to the Radio, its saying wrong EEPROM format and againg it reformat the memory, so everything is gone. Does somebody has similar problem, or I do something wrong when I compile the files, or it is new version of EEPROM but the companion uploading it wrong back to the radio?

Latest companion on svn is for open9x revision >= 1217
If you want to compile for 1195 better to checkout revision r1300 of c9x.

Anyway there is a checkbox on the writing dialog (check for fw compatibility) which should allow c9x to write for an older fw.

Hi Romolo,
I just checked the Companion, I cannot download any other version than 1195. Companion saying there are no updates. So for ErSky9X PCB firmware Open9X is svn 1195 not 1217 based on companion download. I checked also updates for companion, no Updates for companion, so I have the latest update for companion.
I want latest svn, so I compile by myself, its running but it want use the EEPROM uploaded by Companion/Sam-ba 2.11. So I'm stuck with 1195 as that one accept EEPROM file with my Models

There has been an eeprom format change just now.
If you want to use the current release version of C9x (0.95/r1248), you're limited to using open9x r1216 or older. If you want to use open9x r1217 or newer and want companion9x interaction, you have to also compile companion9x yourself from svn.

Is companion that is too updated for your fw; you have two choices, the first to build a old version of c9x including an older version of open9x

svn checkout -r1300 http://companion9x.googlecode.com/svn/ companion9x-read-only
svn checkout -r1210 http://open9x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/ open9x
rm -Rf companion9x-read-only/trunk/open9x
mv open9x companion9x-read-only/trunk/
cd companion9x-read-only/trunk/
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ../src
make

the second:
edit open9xeeprom.h
go to the last lines:

#define LAST_OPEN9X_ARM_EEPROM_VER 212

typedef Open9xArmModelData_v212 Open9xArmModelData;
typedef Open9xGeneralData_v208 Open9xArmGeneralData;

and alter in this way:
#define LAST_OPEN9X_ARM_EEPROM_VER 211

typedef Open9xArmModelData_v211 Open9xArmModelData;
typedef Open9xGeneralData_v208 Open9xArmGeneralData;

But in this way the internal simulator will not work you will get eeprom error in the internal simulator.

The third is to flag "check fw compatibility" during eeprom write .
The forth is to wait some day... we will release the new open9x after the tests.

I think it's the opposite. From what I understand he has built open9x from svn, but tries to use it with the current c9x release (v0.95). I don't think he has built c9x, and that's the problem.

Yes you are correct I have c9x v0.95 build 1248 July 30. So I need build new version of the c9x for newer svn for Open9X compiled by myself. Thanks, I have to make more reading.
