Upgade big jump

Post by billhally »

Have been using er9x now for a good while and still have version 349 in my 9x. Am considering moving to the latest stable version 656. With such a large jump in numbers will it be OK for me to do this without loosing or altering any of my model data that I currently have?

You should not loose any of your data.

To be safe. Back it up with eePe first. That way you can restore it.

But all model settings should carry across with no problem.

...........if you think it should be in the wiki.. ask me for wiki access, then go add it!

I don't think the eeprom has changed significantly but the best way to tell is simply to download the eeprom through the latest eePe. If it can read it then the radio will be able to as well.

OK have done the upgrade now. After the process my radion reported "Old Version Eeprom" and "Check Settings & Calibration" . I have redone the calibration routine and my settings appear the same in eepe is it safe to assume this will now be OK?

Should be, but always check if all function like it should BEFORE you go in the air. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah,

The reason I put the warning in place was a change in the reading of the potentiometers. This made the reading more accurate and linear but also changed the baseline slightly.
I just wanted to make sure the user (you) would recalibrate.

Like Groot said, all should be fine but go over everything just to be on the safe side.
