Does original 9x transmitter module work with frsky mod?

Hi,

I'm about to do a frsky modification with piazo and haptic feedback just right now and I begun to think that, does the original transmitter module work with frsky-haptic version of Open9x firmware?

I have flysky and frysky receivers on my planes so, I need to use both transmiter modules depending on which plane I'm going to fly.

yes.

If you use the 'stock' module, everything will work - you just get no telemetry output from the module when using the stock module.

After the telemetry mod I also make sure I isolate the same module pins in the stock module from ground that the frsky mod uses. This makes sure the stock module has no connection to them or ground.

You mean that I should open the stock transmitter module casing and isolate two of those pins from there which are involved in this mod?

I just finished modifying the frsky transmitter module. Looks like this....

Yes, I my opinion I do isolate the 2nd and 4th pins inside the stock module after the 9x has been modified. Those pins now connect to the 9x level converter or MOSI MISO directly if you wire your DJT for TTL output instead of RS232 as you have done and I don't want anything I plug into the 9x putting a ground or other, to them now.
I just float those two connector pins in the stock module. Another stock Frsky DJT module is OK because those pins float open circuit normally if not modified. Open for other comments as always.

Okay I understand and I will do that, but doesn't you mean 2nd and 5th pin? Not a 4th pin... just asking to be sure.

ps. just isolated those two pins from the back circuit board of TH-9X. Now, attaching the frsky upgrade lite.

Yes 2 and 5 the same pins used for the Frsky mod. Up late and brain was asleep. Good catch.
