Hi there everybody, I've taken out of the basement my old 9x with sky9x board and finally got to install opentx 2.3.15 on it.
everything seems fine but when I setup a model I have only ppm out as on option, I did hope I could make a serial connection to the external multimodule (irangex) but I'm afraid not.... any suggestion? did I miss something when compiling firmware?
thanks a lot in advance

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
The SKY board supports 2 modules, the external one and an extra one (that is internal). On openTx, the extra one only supports PPM (eskyTx supports other protocols as well). Make sure you have selected the External RF Mode as MULTI, it defaults to OFF.

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
Thanks MikeB for answering that fast! I was afraid I was missing something as in my menu there are some blank rows, and I suppose it had to be there... Any idea how to fix it?

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
Hi @MikeB, I made another test. I did reset the eeprom with the jumper, then made a full reinstall of both opentx and ersky9x. In opentx the menu for the internal module is not visible as per my previous picture. In ersky9x the menu is visible and I can select Multi, so maybe there is something wrong with opentx 2.3.15 with sk9x board. I wanted to try the 2.3.14 or older version, but I can't find a way to do it, maybe you have an older version by chance? thanks a lot in advance

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
No I don't have older versions of openTx, I only use erskyTx.
I don't know if the menu will work, but just be displaying. The radio simulator in companion does display, and operate, the menu, so maybe you could use that to see what should be displaying on the radio and try pressing the required keys to use it!

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
I just checked the Firmware Simulator on my pc and the rows appear empty as in my radio. If I force it in the model editor then click "simulate" opentx will crash... I really don't know what could be causing this problem.
EDIT: I tried with an older companion (2.3.5) that I had around and in the tx simulator I can select MULTI and it doesn't crash. Have you tried with 2.3.15? thanks a lot for your help
EDIT EDIT: on github there is a nightly build and the tx simulator wirks fine in that one too, but if I select "nightlies" as firmware source I get an error that the file could not be downloaded: "server replied: bad gateway"

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
I downloaded openTx 2.3.15 for the SKY board and can confirm the problem with the menu.
I have companion 2.3.14 installed and the radio simulator shows the menu correctly in that.

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
I've been building some special versions of openTx with updates that haven't been released. I've just managed to build a sky9x version, which I have attached. This seems to have the correct menu items available.
I don't know how to include any of the optional items that are selected in companion, so this is a simple build, but may be enough for what you need.

Re: Sky9x and Multimodule
MikeB you are THE man! It works fine, it took me longer to test your build as I finally flashed my multimodule and everything works as expected! thanks a lot!!!! Honestly your work made me think I should look into ersky9x as you are still developing while opentx seems dead since a long time.
