Hi all
about to reflash the original software back onto a 9XR, I assume it can be done, but what order, eeprom or firmware first?
Thanks in advance

Firmware then eeprom since flashing firmware erases the eeprom.

Simply copy the file to the “Firmware” folder on the SD card. Then enter Bootloader mode by turning on the transmitter with the horizontal trims held together. Follow the menu to flash the firmware.
It’s not obvious which version you are talking about. As I recall, the “original” firmware was r202 but this as updated to r204 within a few weeks. Then a year or so later HobbyKing introduced a version that corresponded to about r213.
I would not recommend any of these old versions. Version r221 is available from ER9x.com. It is significantly improved, especially with respect to the menu structure.
Is there any particular reason you want to downgrade?

It's a 9XR. No card, no bootloader, just an AVR ISP connector...

Re: Flashing original software back on Tgy9XR
Ok, tried that, spectacularly unsuccessful, flashed tgy9xr firmware first then eeprom, disconnected cable, rebooted the piece, blank screen, pushed buttons , no response, so just reflashed er9x and we are back working, am I missing something?
I am wanting to reinstall the original firmware as it will work with a Turnigy IA8 afhds 2A receiver without problems, when the receiver was tried with another ER9X flashed 9XR it appears to bind, but no activity by the receiver!

Re: Flashing original software back on Tgy9XR
Ok, I have 2 x modules here, both work with the above receiver using the 9XR with as supplied original software,
a Flysky 2.4ghzAFHDS 2A module , FS-RM0003 module
a Turnigy 9X Native 2.4ghz FCC ID N4ZRM00300
I suspect the same pcbs, just different external boxes!
The latter was originally fitted in a later(recent) Tgy 9X. The TX after flashing with ER9X would not work with V2 receivers, however a work around of using an earlier V2 pcb module got that unit working, the redundant module was then adapted to take an external aerial, and as previously both work with an IA8 receiver with the original 9XR firmware hence my desire to return another flashed 9XR to original firmware!
Just checked with other afhds 2A rx's , an IA10 and an IA6 neither work with the original firmware, so whats going on with the IA8, I do not have an answer!
Hopefully I'll be able to check with 2 other IA8 rx's as friends have ordered 2 from HK!

Re: Flashing original software back on Tgy9XR
Ok, the 2 9X's have arrived, tried the IA8 receivers with an original 9XR transmitter, and yes both work with th 9XR running original software! The tx had a later module installed.
Anybody got an explanation?
Also any thoughts on how to reverse flash the tx from er9x back to original? Is it possible?
