I currently have an X9D+ (non SE) transmitter and was going to do the SMA mod for the antenna. However after watching this video it seems people have had various problems with their radio stopping working, possibly from static discharge in to the RF front end.

To me the solution would be adding ESD protection diode on the antenna line. After reading this post it suggests that on the X9D Plus SE (which has an SMA connector already) there s now ESD protection by default. I was interested to see if this is actually the case.

I was hoping someone with the SE version of this radio could take a photo of the board for me to compare with mine - for clarity I wanted a picture of small board that is mounted on the larger RF board, like in this picture
