And to top it off ,I have another one but I can't get it to bind. The one not working would bind..Same settings in the second one..Receiver blinks then goes out..No bind

Did you insert the module with the radio turned ON?

jhsa I need to apologize to you..I went back and looked at what happened . I was working on 2 radios at the time . The battery to the other radio was laying on the bench ..The radio I was inserting the module into still had the battery in it and must have been turned on . So to answer your question..Yes The radio was on , upside down and I inserted a module ..What made me look was the lights to the module came on then off ..Burned out r9...So I got the second radio to bind ,telemetry settings ..But this radio isn't making good contact now so I need to adjust the case..With back cover off and module inserted it will bind .

THANKS jhsa for your response

Yeah, R9 is a current sensor resistor and normally burns if you insert or remove the RF module if the radio is ON. Replacing it or bridging it normally fixes the problem. That is why I asked.. :)

About the module, many 9XR-PRO radios seem to have too short RF module bay pins. What you could do is either replace them with longer pins, or try to get to the back of the PCB and push them out a bit with the soldering iron. But be carefull not to overheat anything. PCB tracks for example don't like heat for a long period of time, and they could get damaged.

So this radio before my mishap was working fine..But now it wont connect to the module with the case back on. I thought that maybe the pins were now not out far enough, But They are out further than than my other radio..I can take cover off and install module and it binds up with rx .Again the pins are out further than my other pro which binds up. Maybe they are out to far but I cant see how that could be..Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Does the module have some LED light? can you see if it is powering ON?
What you describe points to some bad connection somewhere..
Perhaps you could post some pictures from the radio's module bay, and also from the RF board where the pins are. Perhaps we can see something..

Well that's what I thought ,But if I take back cover off and put module on it fires right up and binds..Put cover on, not even a light.. I have another pro setting next to it and I measured the pins with back on case on both and the one that is not working are longer..It's just weird that without the back on it will bind right up..without the back on I'm just setting it on the pins till it is level with antenna connection...The radio itself with the cover on and no lights on the module is saying over and over weak rx signal

there is some bad connection between the pins and the module. perhaps if you gently push them to one of the sides. Perhaps they are thinner than they should.. I am just guessing of course, as I don't have the radio in front of me.

Could be..I will keep looking. I'm sure it is something simple . I'll let you know what I find . It worked before so it has to have something to do with how I mounted it back . which is the way I unmounted it

There is a lip where it looks like the board sets on..It doesn't . It goes underneath and that will make the pins the correct length ..Put it back together and it works perfect. somehow it makes the pins to long . The lip is very thin but I guess it matters . I had to take the back of the other radio to see how it is mounted . I dont know if the pins are tapered or what but it works now .Thanks jhsa

You can have wireless trainer between both radios.
You can connect your radio to eepskye on the PC, and program your models on the PC and see the model react in real time.
You can send telemetry to another device that can decode it. There is a little app for android, quite old actually, and it can receive frsky (D8 only) telemetry and display it on the phone or tablet.
There are a few more things like file transfer that is being tested at the moment. we can send models and I think voice files between radios. This is new, and I need to have a better look at it. I am talking about Ersky9x of course :)
