revert back to ER9X

Post by anthropo »

Hello,

i will have a 9XR PRO, XJT module in two days, that doesn't bind a X8R receiver. I have already bought X4RSB receivers more, but they come without EU firmware. I suspect the problem with X8R comes from that also. Ah i forgot to say i'm french...

The 9XR Pro has opentx.

From what i've managed to read, if i want to use 9xr pro as a tool to update XJT module and receivers to EU firmware on all them, i need to revert to ER9X firmware on the transmitter.

Is it true ? How to do that please ? do i just need to put the ER9X firmware on the micro sd and enter in maintenance mode;, etc.. like the way to put opentx on ER9X ?

Or is it possible to do that through opentx ?

I'm sorry to ask that but it's days (and parts of nights) i'm didn't find the response

Thank you all

I am in the US and I do not have the 9XR-Pro and so not sure if OpenTx can update to EU.
But with the 9XR-Pro, not er9x, but erSky9xr_rom firmware, and you would use eepSkye on your PC to flash with.
Find them here: (http://www.er9x.com/).

User Manuals for now use the Er9x Manual find it here: (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6473).
(Note: Being created is an ErSky9x Manual, it is not ready for release yet.)
Also you can see the 9XR-Pro Manuals for erSky9x: (viewtopic.php?f=122&t=5575#p79483).

Someone will be able to help you better then I am able to.

you need eepskye to flash the 9XR-PRO with Ersky9x. You could also place the firmware file on the card, but I think for the transition it is better to use eepskye.
Go to http://www.er9x.com and download "eepe/eepskye" If you use windows you need to install eepe, and then find eepskye.exe inside eepe's installation directory. Just create a shortcut to it on the desktop.
I believe to be able to update the XJT you need one of the test versions that Mike post here.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676

Download the latest one, and then install it using eepskye.

Now format the SD card. Do not use windows for this. Get the SD Card formatter utility from here:

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
After formatting the card, create a folder with the name "firmware". From now on you can place the firmware files you want to flash, inside this folder.

Go to viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7715 and download the voice pack for ersky9x. Unzip it to the SD Card. A "voice" folder will be created. Inside this folder there should be 3 other folders. "system, user and modelNames".

Or you can get this fantastic tool and generate your own voice pack.

https://github.com/CaffeineAU/TTSAutoma ... ag/2.7.1.0

There is already a .PSV file with the list of the basic voices. Just use it to generate your pack after selecting the voice. Of course, you can also add your own files to the "user" folder, and modelNames" folder.. Leave the "system" files alone ;) :)

I hope this helps
