Hi all
Been a while, lost/misplaced my notes, I have a Pro tx, powering on, the blue power light works but screen remains 'dead' I remember a fix for this(dead resistor of 0ohms I think, just needing a bridge) but cannot find the piece, any suggestions please, and finally mr dumb here asking, a straight usb between the laptop and the tx?

Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
Might be this is what you where looking for??9XR Pro dead
============
I suspect that I have killed my radio when trying to check the voltages on the pins in the module bay. Maybe I inadvertently shorted something...
Now when I switch on, the screen remains blank
Measure R9 on the RF module board, inside the radio of course, not inside the RF module it should read around zero Ohms, just like a short.. R9 is a current sensor, and normally is the first to blow if you short something.

Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
Ok, cleaned/remade all connections in the tx, still nothing, only the power on blue light, also with the tx connected to my laptop, it is not detected, any suggestions please?
Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
Please read Reinhard's post again. That is exactly what you want to do. I bet that R9 is broken.
And by the way, inserting or removing the RF module while the radio is ON might cause that R9 to fail.

EDIT: Or did I misunderstood your post and you did did measure R9? if so, what is the measured value?

Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
Yes, getting continuity across it with a reading of 0.7 ohms - a jumper wire perhaps?
Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
Ok, then, do you have an RF module inserted? Does is control a servo?
if you turn the radio ON while pressing both horizontal trims to the center, and then connect to the PC, is it recognized by it?
If all this fails, please turn your radio ON and measure the voltage between both sides of R9 and ground. Be careful not to short anything.

Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
So, set up an rf module and an rx with servos connected tried the bind procedure, it bound, switched all off, removed bind loop, switched on, tx then rx -no led showing in rx.no servo movement
Switch on pressing horiz bars, connect nothing
and the voltage check, with the rf board mounted or on its own?
Leaving the radio switched on there is a click every so often, cannot id origin, and the processor is very hot!

Re: 9XR Pro Screen not working on power up,
Oh, oh, processor very hot is not good Actually this is something I was going to ask you to check.
Either something is shorting one or more processor pins, or the processor itself is gone South, broken, kaput
Please disconnect everything from the mainboard except the LCD display and the connector that brings the power from the RF board. Remove also the RF module obviously.
Check if the processor still gets hot, and measure the output of the 3.3V regulator. As always, be careful not to short anything.
