OpenTx hardwired from OpenLRSNG to OpenLRSNG using PPM?

Post by cwleveck »

Not sure where I should be posting this so I'm going to try here first....
I'm making a submarine ROV. I want to use a tether from my transmitter to my receiver. So I'm thinking if I made a couple of Arduino Mini words without the radio modules and ran a cable from the PPM signal of the transmitter to the PPM signal of the receiver would that work?
I built up a couple of open lrs transmitter and receiver modules in the past.
I know that opentx has a signal out, maybe I can bypass openlrs totally and go straight to the sbus on a Pixhawk?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
And yes, I am aware of the Ardusub and I thinks it's great but this project is a crazy hybrid that needs to be done like this. Believe me, I'd rather do it differently.
Seems like a kid I knew 30 years ago wired his antennas together but those radios back then used AM and were powered with kites and Keys and only worked when struck by lightning....

SBUS out from OpenTX to SBUS in of something that supports it should work. I don't know of any modern receiver that takes PPM in.
