Taranis updated voice pack

Post by Kilrah »

Just a little heads-up that I forgot to mention. Following the arrival of production radios I noticed the speaker was different than the one that was on our proto radios, and the sounds I had optimized for the proto sounded quite bad.

So I have tested a few different filters, and made a new pack that should sound lots better on the production radio (for English, that is). Of course FrSky have loaded the old one, so you may want to replace the audio files on the SD card by those available from c9x, or directly here:

I have some slightly different voices for you guys.

Not sure if they are better/worse than Andre's, but they work quite well. :-)

Hi guys,

Silly question time again.

Do I need to delete the old sound files, before adding the updated ones ??.

I'm still learning OpenTx.........but loving it !!!.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hello to everybody
I'm actually making a clean French audio pack, but when I compare English and French actual audio, packs I see some difference between what is said for a same file name.

Where can I find the official list of what file name must say what, specially for the systems sounds ?

Thanks

This is not an official list, but a list I've compiled from the English pack. Those with XXX are not included in the current download and I've not ascertained if they are still valid system sounds.

What I'm really curious about are those marked with XXX because they had been in use in the past but are no longer in the official voice pack. I'm making a new male voice pack for English, and I'd like it to be complete -- which I'm sure is your desire as well. I have access to very skilled language teachers that could do other languages with real voices - but I don't want to bring them to a recording session unless I'm sure we can make a complete set.

That's why I never made German and French voice packs last winter -- I could never find out what the official words and names were. I'm a teacher and have access to very talented foreign language (foreign for here anyway) teachers who would do the voices. But I don't want to waste my time doing something that won't work.

In my opinion the voice in these sound files is perfect, much better than other sound packs out there. The female voice is clear and quick. I would like to create some more and share them. What software / synthesiser would you recommend. I mainly use Ubuntu.
