RSSI alarm

Post by heliperry »

Not sure where I should ask this question. I have a two receiver set up in my IMAC plane. I flew it a couple weeks ago testing out my new transmitter program and all went well. Tried to fly it today and my radio alarm went off with RSSI low. Did a rang test and it sounds off again when I walk about 5steps away from the plane. I have a RX8R and a XM + and a redundancy bus 10. Using a open tx Horus X 12S transmitter. Please help!! :(
I hadn't had any trouble with my old JR TX. Thinking I may have made a mistake purchasing this transmitter system. Getting pretty frustrated.

Not sure you got any responses yet, but I noticed you mentioned and RX8R. If you are using it in a gas plane I believe you need to use the RX8R PRO version as it was upgraded for improved interference rejection. Other than that, make sure your antennas are all located properly especially if you have a plane with carbon fiber in it.

Hi heliperry ,
I use erSkyTx so not able to help,
maybe some one who uses opentx will help you soon.
You may find the info you are needing here: https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=45

Maybe consider flashing to erSkyTx, it is great firmware too: http://www.er9x.com/
Er9x on 9x radio, with Smartieparts Programmer and TelemetrEZ Board.
ErSky9x on Taranis, Sky9x, 9Xtreme radios.
3D-Printing: (https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=129).
